The ecobutton is a visual prompt to help save energy when your computer's left idle. It looks like it could be a quiz show answer buzzer. It connects to your computer via a USB cable and lights up. Whenever you'll be away from the computer, you hit the ecobutton and it puts your computer into energy saving eco-sleep.
Unlike a computer's regular hibernate mode, the ecobutton offers instantaneous restart upon return to the keyboard. A further function also keeps tabs on carbon units, power, and money saved. Not only can you do some good for the planet, but you can know how much.
Eco button is not MAC compatible at the moment, but they're working on it.
