The ZoomArt Monocular is a miniature telescope which is a handsome assistant for art, concerts, and travelling. It's only 8cm long and fits discretely into a pocket or the palm of a hand. It can also hang elegantly from the neck. Manufacturers Palomar of Italy describe Zoomart perfectly as the visual thinking equivalent to the pocket knife.
Palomar is a specialist premium optics company based in a palazzo in the centre of Florence. It was whilst trying to see artworks in Florence's famous Uffizi Gallery that designer Odoardo Fioravanti first came up with this idea. Owners have since found myriad other adaptations.
ZoomArt is much more contemporary than traditional opera glasses, and doesn't have the 'going to the races' look that binoculars convey. Twisting the little side finger holder allows optimal focusing. It comes gift boxed with lanyard and lycra carrier – which also doubles as a lens cleaner.
Specs : 8cm x 3.75cm ; objective lens = 1.8cm ; magnification = 6x ; weight = 100g ; focal range = beyond 1 metre
