The classic Mondaine face, in a larger 38mm face with the a day and date. Previously the day/date feature was only available in Mondaine's famous and significantly more expensive 40mm Automatic. This is the quartz incarnation.
And it's water resistant to 30m, with shiny stainless steel case, mineral glass face, and black leather strap. Revered engineer Hans Hilfiker designed the Swiss Railway Clock for the railway stations of Switzerland in 1944. The famous red second hand was inspired by the paddle waved at departure time by the train guard.
In 1986 the Mondaine Watch Company adapted Hilfiker's design to a more portable form. The "SBB" on every Mondaine watch case stands for "Swiss Federal Railways".
