Splayds are time honoured multi purpose cutlery. You can stop waiting to inherit them from your Auntie Merle because they're  back. In the 60s &70s Splayds were bigger than the Hills Hoist for good reason.

They're a combo of fork, spoon and knife which let you eat with a single hand – perfect for parties, buffets, and in front of TV.

Featured at The Powerhouse Museum as a great Aussie innovation, Splayds were invented in 1943 by William McCarthur for his cafe near Martin Place in Sydney. In 1960 he sold the rights to Stokes cutlery. Fifty years on Splayds still cut it.
