You can stop waiting to inherit them from your Auntie Merle. Splayds are back.
In the 60s &70s Splayds were bigger than the Hills Hoist for good reason. They're a combo of fork, spoon and knife which let you eat with a single hand – perfect for parties, buffets, and in front of TV.
Featured at The Powerhouse Museum as a great Aussie innovation, Splayds were invented in 1943 by William McCarthur for his cafe near Martin Place in Sydney. Sixty years on Splayds still cut it.
