Hohner Marine Band Harmonica
Hohner Marine Band Harmonica indulges the urge to sit on the back step and wail soulfully at the moon. No other harp gives the same warmth, feel, and sense of history in your hands.
Sonny Boy Williamson, Little Walter, and Sonny Terry all wailed the blues on this harmonica. Bruce Springsteen's mournful harp solo on 'The River' was on a Marine Band, as was Bob Dylan's mighty squawking on 'Rainy Day Women.'
The Marine Band was named in 1896 for marching man John Philip Souza's band. Fortunately his harmonica soon fell into the wrong hands and was played by the African American men who provided the foundations for rock & roll
There are several kets for harmonicas. The Good Store carries the C. Now, the Hohner Marine Band Harmonica comes with a free "How to Play" web download to make it possible for anyone to be a very cool harmonica player.
If something additional is needed, our key of C Hohner also matches a brilliant instructional book/DVD which is available separately. (You'll find it at http://www.thegoodstore.com.au/d125-120/dave-barretts-first-lessons-blues-harmonica/)
