The Walter Wayle 11 Wall Clock is arguably the most sculptural wall clock ever released. It was designed by acclaimed Frenchman Philippe Starck for the Alessi company in 1989, and unobtainable since around 2001.

The Walter Wayle II Clock may well be the second edition of Starck's clock, but it's originality is unquestionable . It's a clock with no numbers and no case.

And are those grey clock hands really propellers, flippers, legs or biceps ? Are they wings - as a reminder that "time flies" ? They may be propellors - a reference to an onscure WW1 English aviator named Walter Wayle. Whatever, Philippe Starck has maintained a silence about his inspiration.

Starck's clock is in dark grey thermoplastic resin (rubbery plastic), and has a quartz movement which runs on 2 x AA batteries (provided).

This is the most controversial object in The Good Store. It's indisputably a masterpiece of modernism, and a fine addition to any contemporary house. Sometimes we just disagree what the time is.
