The Falcon Enamelware Pie Dish Set was the bakeware of choice in generations of Australian kitchens. The company was founded in England in 1920 and is deservedly being revived under new family ownership. In classic white with the iconic blue rim.
Enamelware is durable, smooth, scratch resistant, and easily cleaned. It's dishwasher and oven safe, and can even be used on stovetops. Falcon Enamelware is even moreso because it has three layers of enameling, whereas the cheap camping shop versions have just a single layer which is easily chipped.
The enameling process has existed since the 14th century. The method entails fusing glass over other materials - most famously used in The Faberge Eggs. The Falcon Pie Set is in hand finished glass over steel, makes great pies & puddings, and doesn't have to be kept in a vault.
