Kaweco Ice Sport Rollerball Pen
Kaweco Ice Sport Rollerball pens are small, modern inexpensive and reliable pens. They're the vividly-coloured-see-through version of one of the world's most celebrated pens.
The Kaweco Sport dates from 1935, and Kaweco's Ice Sport is true to the Sport's classic chunky octagonal shape. This gives a comfortable grip and stops it rolling off desks. The cap screws on in the old fashioned way. The rollerball is totally new fashioned – offering fatigue free writing, and quick drying. Refills are the readily available G2 Gel Rollerball Refill
This is a famously small pen. It fits easily into pocket or purse. It comes with a detachable chrome clip for pocket use. The colours make it easier to find if misplaced.
The unusual contemporary greatness of Kaweco pens is that their current owners don't need the the money. Current owners H&M Gutberlet dominate the lucrative world market in felt tip eyeliner pencils. They bought Kaweco in 1994 because, like the Remington shaver man, the Gutberlets loved the company. Horst and Michael Gutberlet had long collected Kaweco pens and wanted to guarantee its future.
Kaweco was founded in 1883, and created the world's first capped fountain pen. It was the most renowned pen company in Europe in the 1950s. By 1980 Kaweco Pens had ceased production. When the Gutberlets revived the brand, it was to have each pen "infused with the DNA of its predecessor". Thus Kaweco Ice Sport Rollerball.
