Kelvin 23 Home Multi Tool is a ‘toolbox in your palm’, according to its inventor. It's for handling the small to medium tasks around the house, and even has an Allen Key for flat pack furniture.

Kelvin 23 is so good that ‘Dragon’s Den’ in Canada (their version of Australian TV’s ‘Shark Tank’) described it as “possibly the best thing we’ve seen ever on this show”.

The tool has 23 (surprise !) different functions associated with its rubberised ergonomic handle – ranging through a steel hammer, LED light, retractable tape measure, spirit level, and sixteen different screw bits. There’s even a magnet to hold screws somewhere other than in the mouth.

The screwdriver is also lockable at 90degrees or 180 degrees for increased torque and access.

It all began with the need to hang a picture. Creator Kevin Royes sought to create a tool, but “styled for urban living … not a construction site”.

It's now evolved to a single tool that will bang in a nail, make sure something's level, tighten a loose handle on a frying pan, shine a light on a fuse box at night, and, of course put together an Ikea purchase...
