Rubis Classic Pointed Tweezers are the best in the world. A precision surgical tool for getting out splinters accurately and easily…and a potential best friend to any gardener, craft person, or woodworker

They were born from sadness. In 1984 Fides Baldesberger inherited her late father’s small manufacturing company – it made precision tweezers to the watch making industry.

The company was called Rubis after the rubies set within luxury watch movements, and it wasn’t doing very well – despite supplying the likes of Rolex and Cartier.

In the same way that pro kitchen tools were finding their way into homes, consumer demand soon led pro quality Rubis tweezers to domestic homes though-out Europe and beyond.Ms Baldesberger had previously been an art dealer. Her eye for what was good and authentic had won through…

Rubis tweezers have a soft touch coating for easy grip. They’re made from tempered surgical steel, and are acid-proof, rust-proof, and anti-magnetic. They come with little fitted plastic caps to protect the tips, and they don’t lose tension.

And Rubis tweezers really are hand finished and checked – by an actual human using a vice, magnifier, tongs, and tiny hammers.

The Swiss Cross at the top of Rubis tweezers stands for something too. They’re still made in Switzerland – in the village of Stablo. Ironically, its most famous resident is an Australian – the great cyclist and Tour de France winner Cadel Evans, who no doubt needed these after a fall.
