Helle Viking Knife is a classically simple utility knife with a grand history of being great for sacking, pillaging and surviving in the great outdoors. It’s a re-creation of a knife discovered in a 9th century Viking tomb.

For authenticity, this is unlike most of the Helle company’s knives because it has a rough black carbon steel blade – rather than their regular (and more modern) shiny stainless steel. Likewise, a proper Viking knife has no bolster or guard.

This knife was initially released to coincide with an around-the-world 1980s trip in a Viking Longship by famed Norwegian adventurer Ragnar Thorseth. At that time the blade was a tad shorter, but it’s since been revised longer for modern demand.

Helle's knife atones for the absence of a bolster by having a tapered oval-like handle which is slightly broader at the top, and feels fabulous in a larger hand. It's made from traditional Nordic curly birch. When not being held, it comes with a stitched leather sheath.

The Helle Viking knife is a statement in simplicity. As well as conquering countries, we think it deals very well with a cheeseboard
