The plunger stops the brewing process, to prevent stewed tea.
The Bora Bora is a stay-hot dishwasher–safe development of Bodum's Assam Tea Press commissioned a few years ago by the British Tea Council. It's won a 2006 IF Design Award, and a 2005 Formland design award.
