Alessi's 9090 Coffee Maker was their first ever espresso maker. It was designed by famed German Richard Sapper in 1979, and acclaimed ever since as the world's most beautiful coffee maker. It's still the only stovetop machine we know of that doesn't screw together – it snaps together via a clever lever closure where the handle plays a key role.
And it gets the basics right too. It has a non-drip spout, a non-slip handle, and three interior filters to ensure you drink coffee not eat it. The Alessi 9090 also has a converter to allow you to make either three or six cup brews. The body is made from mirror polished 18/10 stainless steel which allows it to be used on all heat sources including induction.
