Opinel's Tradition Pocket Knives are a legendary French classic. Made in the Savoy area from sustainable French beech wood since 1890, and still made by the first Monsieur Opinel's descendents. Most importantly, they cut beautifully and feel wonderful in your palm.
The French use these little beauties for everything from cutting fruit to whittling. Opinels are unique because of their safety locking device – an ingenious circular safety collar rotates to lock the knife open. In 2000 it was improved to lock the knife closed as well.
