Henk Berg's Bags are very beautiful. The story behind them is a beauty too. They're made from Australian full grain leathers - not split leather like so many other so called leather bags . The leather is hand tanned by Henk Berg. He's a master leather craftsman who developed his skills whilst living for many years in Indonesia. These days, he's based in Tasmania, going back to Indonesia for three to four months a year.
These are now one of Australia's better examples of fair trade. Villagers where Henk learnt his craft put their skills to work creating wonderfully made leather bags for nice people to buy in Victoria Park. The whole enterprise supports most of an Indonesian village – as well as making finely crafted genuine leather bags available to people who aren't millionaires.
These aren't mass produced. We only have what turns up every so often, and we sadly can't offer to order specific styles. Prices vary from around $100 - $300
