Consul was originally produced from 1916 – 1918 by the Educational Novelty Co, Ohio USA. This loving enameled tinplate reproduction is made in Germany.
The original Consul was a cigarette smoking superstar of stage and screen at the turn of the 20th century. He would eat wiith a knife and fork at a table, ride a little bicycle, and would throw things at blonde women.
Now, the cult of Consul is on the rise – a very groovy Swedish electro band take their name from this little red monkey.
