Alessi Parrot Corkscrew
Alessi's Parrot Corkscrew is a re-interpretation of the classic sommelier's opener. He feels great in the palm of your hand, has a super-durable Teflon coated worm screw that slides effortlessly through corks, the comb behind his head rises to be a serrated knife for dealing with metal foil. Oh, and his beak effortlessly removes bottle caps.
All in one 18/10 stainless steel, aluminium & plastic unit.
The Parrot also has a major pedigree. He's designed by Italian designer, author and architect Alessandro Mendini. Mendini is a past-editor of the iconic architecture magazine Domus, as well as the designer of a famous memorial tower in Hiroshima. His corkscrew is a lot less solemn but no less the stuff of life.
