Styling is by British company Black & Blum, based on the aesthetic of 1940s propellor planes. You're not imagining it - this is darned beautiful.
Black & Blum's Propello Fan has a aluminium body. A steel ball bearing motor ensures near silence and a long lifespan. It has an adjustable sliding base which alters for changes in the angle of the air. The spike at the top is for lifting the entire unit.
Crucial Trivia : this desk fan co-starred with Bruce Willis in Die Hard 4.0.
