Alessi's Lily Bird Soy Container is the ultimate tablemate for sushi fans. Up till now even the most stylish of dinner settings could only feature a bottle of Kikkoman. And possibly its own little black ring. At last there's a soy sauce container to do justice to a nicely set table.
Lily is a little phantasmagorical hummingbird, made from handpainted fine bone china. The lid is a work of genius because it won't come off until you want it to. Once the red splash on the lid is lined up with the red on Lily's body, it's foolproof.
This little fella comes from an unlikely source. Alessi is Italy's revered fine homewares design company. They collaborated with the National Palace Museum of Taiwan to create Lily Bird Soy Container as part of their 2009 collection "Orientales". We reckon Lily is the pick of the flock.
