Lodge Cast Iron Skillet is the steak lover’s best friend. It is the time-honoured way to get the restaurant seared exterior along with juicy flesh.

Their cookware is labelled by Lodge as being ‘brutally tough’, and many Americans use it for nearly all their cooking – as well as a nice steak.

Lodge is inherently good for the environment because there’s no in-built obsolescence, and it won’t need replacing.

A cast iron skillet is famously heavy. The heat retention is the secret for good old-fashioned cooking. In 2002 Lodge became new-fashioned with its invention of Lodge Logic pre-seasoned cookware. This saves the repeated oiling previously necessary for cast iron cookware.

The Lodge company is the last of the USA’s great 20th century cast iron cookware companies. It was founded by Joseph Lodge in 1896 and is still run by his descendents.

The company is based in Pittsburg Tennesse, not too far from the Jack Daniels distillery in Lynchburg, and Dolly Parton’s Dollyworld in Pigeon Forge.

Lodge Cast Iron Skillet is a piece of authentic heritage cookware that’s even more relevant in a throw-away world. How many other things will last your whole life ?
