A Harvest or Garden Trug is a shallow basket for carrying veges, garden tools and flowers. It’s the ultimate time honoured garden basket.
Trugs have a long history and trace their origins to the British gardening centre of Sussex. They featured in the Crystal Palace Great Exhibition of 1851. Charlotte Bronte, Charles Darwin, and Lewis Carroll all attended, but Queen Victoria attended and bought Trugs.
Our Burgon and Ball Harvest Trugs are made from the fast growing conifer metasequioa (rather than the traditional slatted willow of Victorian times). They’re just as useful though.
