The Clarke Tin Whistle is acknowledged as the Stradivarious of tin whistles (well, on their own website). Bono and Sting both own a Clarke, and it’s the choice of the greatest player of them all – Tommy Makem.
Play like Tommy with this tutorial set – including a genuine Clarke in the key of D, eighty page ‘how-to-play’ handbook, and matching seventy minute CD.
Mr Robert Clarke created his first tinplate masterpiece in 1843. It debuted at the London Great Exhibition of 1851 and went on to become a folk music staple. It’s barely changed since, and ironically for an instrument so linked with Irish and Scottish music, it’s always been made in Clarke’s own factory in England.
