The Daycraft Signature Lined Notebook range is the high quality notebook that’s beautiful to hold – there’s a sumptuously soft PU cover which rewards holding or stroking. There’s a variety of colours – with co-ordinated colour edging, cover, and ribbon place marker to make it easier to find in a bag or briefcase.
The paper is a pleasure to write on. The lines are a discrete brown grey on premium acid-free cream coloured 100gsm paper (copy paper is 80 gsm) with little or no bleed through. Will ballpoints, we reckon you can barely tell there’s writing on the other side of the page.
Daycraft is a newly revitalized brand from Hong Kong’s Tai Shing Diary Co. They’ve been in the journal and paper products business since 1988, but recently decided to use their Daycraft brand to focus on quality.
And no animals die for their products, so vegans and vegetarians can use them. Whilst the covers of these journals feel like leather, they’re actually PU, which is polyurethane as used in foam padding (no wonder they’re soft). It’s waterproof and easily cleaned.
Whilst the Daycraft Signature Notebook has a ribbon place marker, it differs from some journals because it doesn’t have a rear pocket, or an elastic band. It is, however, lovely to hold and write in, and the sewn paper means it’ll last. We like that.
