The Daycraft Signature Sketch Unlined Notebook range is the high quality blank notebook that feels good too – a sumptuously soft PU cover which rewards holding or stroking. There’s a variety of colours (with co-ordinated covers, page edgings, and ribbon place marker) to make it easier to find in a bag or briefcase.
The paper is a pleasure to draw or write on. For artists and doodlers, the stitched binding lets the book sit flat so you can work over a double page. The Daycraft Signature uses premium sewn acid-free cream coloured 100gsm paper (photo copy paper is 80gsm) with little or no bleed through. Will ballpoints and pencil, we reckon you can barely tell there’s writing on the other side of the page.
Daycraft is a newly revitalized brand from Hong Kong’s Tai Shing Diary Co. They’ve been in the journal and paper products business since 1988, but recently decided to use their Daycraft brand to focus on quality.
And no animals die for their products, so vegans and vegetarians can use them. Whilst the covers of these journals feel like leather, they’re actually PU, which is polyurethane as used in foam padding (no wonder they’re soft). It’s waterproof and easily cleaned.
The Daycraft Signature Notebook has a ribbon place marker. It differs from some journals because it doesn’t have a rear pocket, or an elastic band, but it’s lovely to hold and draw in. We like that.
