The Descorjet Champagne Opener is the easiest and safest way to open sparkling wines. It’s fast, easy, and safe – it stops a drinker being one of the annual 12% of bubbly lovers injured by popping corks.
This is the only thing in The Good Store which has been described as a silver and gold plated bugle, and compared to the ear trumpet of a Bourbon monarch (The Guardian online 2017). In It feels good to hold.
The Descorjet works by fitting it over the cork and squeezing the lever. This causes another inside lever to contract inward and upward, forcing out the cork. One handed.
Our opener is Argentinian, and was only invented in 2000. Creator Hugo Olivera heard the story of a waiter hurting his hands when having to open sixty bottles of bubbly. Pretty soon his factory switched from making mechanical spare parts to making champagne openers.
