The G7th Capo is arguably the best in the world. Guitarists have thrilled to a capo which doesn’t pull strings out of tune, and doesn’t have an ugly handle sticking out. Did we mention it looks gorgeous ?
Non-musos may need to know that a capo (properly called a ‘capodastra’ ) is a clamp to allow guitarists to change key without altering fingering. Up till now they were very fiddly. The G7th works one handed and works for both acoustic and electric six string guitars. When not in use it stores handily at the end of the guitar’s headstock.
The G7th Capo was invented by a 50-ish English engineer named Nick Campling. Aside from his capo, he loves watching and reading Lord of the Rings.
This capo has already been adopted by guitar royalty from Eric Clapton to James Taylor. Famously non-effusive guitar hero Richard Thompson loves the G7th capo, saying it’s “Easy to operate, and it looks like a bottle opener on a Porsche.”
