A Gordon Warmer is made from 98% New Zealand wool, and scrunches up to fit in the palm of your hand (or a pocket). It’s also lots more sophisticated than your average beanie – the knit is the finest of fine, more-so than any beanie we’ve found, so you don’t get itchy & scratchy.
The thin-ness allows Gordon’s warmer to sit easily under bicycle and motorbike helmets. A stretchy 2% elastene component makes for genuine one size fits all headware.
The Gordon Warmer is unique. Creator Celia Allison commissions her local wool mill to make these. The fabric was originally developed for use in New Zealand mountain biking and snow boarding wear, but went out of production.
Celia cajoled the mill into re-instating the weave specially for her Gordon Warmer. Gordon is the name of a beanie-wearing cartoon character she created. (There’s also a companion scarf/balaclava – the Cecily Scarf https://www.thegoodstore.com.au/d1004-124/cecily-scarf/
