The Helen Kaminski Baccaus is a very fine cap for wine drinkers – it’s named for the Greek god for wine and good times.
The Baccaus is an Ascot Flat Cap woven in seamless raffia. Because it’s made from raffia (rather than ordinary everyday straw) it breathes and lasts for many years. It has a stretch grosgrain inner band and is internally adjustable to adjust to a variety of heads.
A Helen Kaminski hat is a super premium piece. They’ve been sold around the world since the 1980s. Helen Kaminski was amongst the first Australian designers to acknowledge the notion of fair trade and renewable resources – leading to the establishment of raffia weave workshops in Madagaskar and Sri Lanka.
* This is from the Helen Kaminski 2011/12 Men’s Collection. Because of the adjustable band, it can also work well for a woman with a head of thick hair.
