Rosie the Riveter Pen by Retro 51 is the fusion of one of the world’s great symbols of a formidable woman, and America’s hippest pen company.

Rosie the Riveter first appeared in the 1940s as a morale boosting poster for the American war effort and the six million women who took first time manufacturing jobs – in the absence of American men who were off at war.

Our famous riveter was the work of American graphic artist J Howard Miller. It’s likely that Rosie was based on a young factory worker named Naomi Parker, who passed away in 2018 at a ripe age.

Whatever, her legend lives on in a universal symbol of a woman’s capacity to achieve. Rosie’s right stuff has been acknowledged by women from Michelle Obama to Marge Simpson.
