The Wonderful World of Wren is a heartwarming story for 2-5 year olds. It is,of course, never too early for parents to read to this to their little ones.
It tells the tale of Wren who’s out having a happy time, and comes across a little character resembling a cloud of darkness – the so-called Grimble Grumble Grimble. Wren has a lasting impact on the little dark character.
The rhyming story tells how she does it, and offers an inspiring moral for children to carry through their lives.
Wren really does exist. Author Peter Shilkin is Wren’s Dad, as well as author and illustrator of the book. He’s from Perth, he’s a successful business person, a lovely man … and he’s also Grimble Grumble Grimble. Peter credits Wren for helping him to escape depressive episodes.
The Wonderful World of Wren can be simply a good story. It can also be about creating positive messages for youngsters, and also offering them a gentle way to recognise parents dealing with mental health issues. It’s a beautiful book.
