Urban Composter City is the apartment dweller’s 8 litre version of the original 15litre Urban Composter. It’s small enough to fit under the sink, and sleek enough to look mighty fine on a benchtop. And it’s now made in Australia from recycled plastic.
Urban Composter City acts precisely like its larger Urban Composter Original sibling. It takes food, vegetables, fruit, and meat (no bones tho’). It breaks them down without smells or flies because it’s airtight. The fermentation process releases liquids to be drained off every two or three days. When added to the garden, it’s like a super vitamin tool.
The idea is to drain fluid from the composter every couple of days, and the food scraps then ferment rather than rot. At the end of a 4-8 week process, the pulp is added to the compost patch – or a worm farm. And nature applauds.
